WAR IN BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA

(April, 1992 – November, 1995)

In April of 1992, Bosnia-Herzegovina followed Slovenia and Croatia and left the Yugoslav federation.

Immediately local Serbs declared their independence of the new nation and proclaimed separate Serbian Republic within the borders of Bosnia. They also declared their willingness to unite with Serbia and Montenegro.

Local Croatians in their turn, organized their own administrationin Herzegovina and several enclaves in Northern Bosnia and tried to establish close association with Croatia.
